If you’re just new to the internet marketing arena, you might be confused as to which money making opportunities you should follow. Sorting through the myriad of information available about how to create profits can be hard. Maybe someone’s invited you to participate in an opportunity that didn’t seem to be legitimate. It can be confusing to know which opportunity is real without becoming overwhelmed by it all. The fact is that there are still plenty of real ways to earn money online. Here are some suggestions for building your internet marketing career and find ways to make money online.

You can flip websites – it works and is done by very many people of all experience levels. That concept was modeled after flipping houses, or properties, in real estate. You buy a domain name and set it up with some cheap hosting. Put some content onto that website and sell some advertising space. After you’ve been receiving traffic for several months, and hopefully generating some income, then that’s the time you’ll sell it off. Very many marketers make their incomes from this, but realize it takes hard work and the right effort to make it happen. Anyone who has a talent for writing can get paid by sending articles to a variety of sites that accept articles, such as Helium. If you write on a topic they are seeking, they will pay you up front for an article, though the prices they pay are fairly low. You can also make money long term on these sites by participating in their revenue sharing options, whereby another website owner features your article and you get paid based on how profitable your article is in terms of advertising dollars it attracts. Another thing you might try if you are a writer is to send a query or article to an online ezine. There are many ways to get started as a freelance writer online if you have any desire to do this.

Maybe you’d rather build a blog. Believe it or not, writing about yourself can be profitable. You can become quite successful if you choose a specific niche for your blog. It’s possible to earn revenue from your blogs in several ways. Using advertising space to include paid ads is a good start. You can find people willing to sponsor your blog posts. You can review items and get paid for it. Many reviewers receive free items to write about, so you could keep these, or you could choose to sell them to boost profits after you’ve written your review. You might even charge a fee to blog about particular topics or to add links to other sites within your blog posts. The possibilities for earning money with blogging are endless.

There are lots of ways that internet marketers can make money online. As an internet marketer, it’s important to try and create multiple streams of revenue as possible to increase your income. When you are first starting out, choosing the online money making methods that are right for you can be intimidating. Thankfully it’s easy to sort out which options will work for you and which ones might not. Before too long you might even be able to quit your day job and make your living entirely online!

SEO Rules for Google to Drool

April 29th, 2010 publisher No comments

Did you ever notice that getting a site noticed by Google reminds you of when you first starting dating and all the things you had to remember about first impressions? Here’s the scope from an Austin SEO Company -  when you think about it, SEO is like dating etiquette guidelines for how your website stands a better chance of getting noticed by Google and the other search engines.

Let’s face it – we want Google to marry our websites and yet Google wants to date us and practically everyone else on the face of the internet. So its up to us to know how to best grab Google’s attention and keep it.

Hygiene

Hygiene is important- just like in the offline world. While we can’t actually give our website a shower or teach it to shave or cut its hair to look nice, there is such as thing as digital hygiene.

- You want every thing you talk about on your site, the majority of the time to stay away from pornographic terms, even the accidental use of a word- stay away from adult content OK if you want to stand a chance for positive organic search engine results.

- Be selective in the content you add to your site and make sure things like images are set to the lowest dot per inch (dpi) so they load as quickly as they can and don’t slow down the process First impressions mean a lot even in the Google bot world. If your site takes too long to load for Google – they aren’t going to let you near their customers. How long would you wait for a site to load? Use that as a guide for your own site.

- Make sure you don’t have HTML errors – these errors aren’t going to be visual errors necessarily, but they can be seen by Google. You can run your site through an HTML checker to find if you have any and where they are. You can even Google for the term “html checker” and find several to test.

- Make sure your links are working. Google does not like links that don’t work and it can see them even if you can’t.

Be Friendly

Make it easy for Google to see your site. If you’re doing a lot of flash development on your site – especially the first page – there’s nothing for the search engines to READ. They need WORDS. So if you ignore this point expect for Google to walk past you on the street and not say hello. Regardless of how amazing your site looks, without words, Google can not see you clearly and will move onto the next site.

Be Yourself

Like in real life – be true to yourself, despite how cool it would be to be someone else or to follow the latest and greatest craze in website promotion, make sure its really you and not someone else.

So being yourself in terms of your website is knowing what you are about and then being that.Know your keywords – don’t try to make every page or the home page of your site reveal the entire function of your life, site or business. Think in terms of one or two keywords per page and use those words and general content to make that page relevent to those words.

Yes, it will help you to focus on adding pages and or posts that speak to that one or two search terms and be clear.

Google LOVES the clarity and simplicity of that. If you use so many terms on a single page Google thinks the first one is the most important but when it sees the second one it adds a little weight onto that one and same thing to the next one. Pretty soon NONE of your keywords has decent weight for Google to “take you to met the parents” on Page 1.

Your Friends

At some point when you’ve been dating long enough, you might introduce your friends to your date. Links from other people’s website back to your site are seen by Google as a “friend” to your site.

Now you don’t introduce all your friends right away in the offline world and that’s true in the online world of Google as well. In fact,if you were to suddenly have 1000’s of links to a new site, Google would be highly mistrust. So if you’ve been around for a long time Google is comfortable and that makes sense to Google and you won’t spook anyone. But if you’re brand new and you know everybody? Not likely unless you were doing something to trick the system. And then Google will stop returning your calls and putting your site further back in the search results.

What’s interesting about Google is that it actually cares about the quality of those other sites. Google wants you to have friends because it means they aren’t your only connection to the outside world. Google can relax a little – that you’re not just dating Google for the rankings.

Find out who Google thinks are the cool people and go hang out with them.

Google loves active social sites – its a bit like dating a high upkeep date – they want you to look good to them at all times and go dancing every night.

You or rather your website needs to stay in shape, be interesting, be its own person and know that if you’re cheating Google will dump you on the dance floor.

Keyword Research: How Important For SEO?

April 29th, 2010 publisher No comments

Whenever you’re discussing Search engine optimization you should begin with keyword research due to the fact that any time you don’t get this right everything else is going to be off as well. I can’t stress this strongly enough- if you foul up your keyword research you’ll be unsuccessful, do it properly and everything else is a piece of cake. You really can learn SEO.

Just in case you don’t know, keywords are how everyone finds what they are searching for online. They may be one word keywords or an entire keyword phrase but for the purposes of this article I’ll use “keyword” to describe both.

To carry out your keyword research you will definitely want to use keyword software which can be 100 % free to over $100. If you are short on money use the Google keyword tool, just search for Google keyword tool in Google. If you’re able to find the money for it I go with, and would advocate using, Market Samurai. It is $149 (at the moment) and there’s a trial offer that will allow you to use for free (I’m not sure for how long). Yet another good choice (or so I have heard) is Keyword Elite. I additionally use Micro Niche Finder however I only use it for a fast recon. You require far more in-depth competion research than it can supply. I’d personally not recommend it as being your only software.

As you do your SEO keyword research there are two factors to take into consideration: a) Is there enough traffic for the keyword to be worth while and, b) the level of competition. Lets look at traffic first.

This point right here can save you a lot of headaches- always do your research in exact match. Both phrase match and broad match will not tell you the actual traffic a keyword receives, only exact match. For myself I never go after a keyword unless there is at the very least one hundred searches per day in exact match. This of course is just the low end and doesn’t mean you should not try to find keywords with more traffic.

Next let’s discuss levels of competition. Without Market Samurai or another good keyword tool this will take a lot of time and also work. You need to look at many factors for the sites that are in the top 10 of Google to determine just how hard or not it’ll be to get your site on the first page for the key phrase you’re targeting.

Some say all you need to do is search for you keyword in quotes and if the number of sites returned is under a certain amount you are good to go. This may be true it may not be. If there are only 100 sites returned and 25 of them are high Page Rank sites with thousands of good anchor-text one way back links and all have good on-page optimization do you think it will be easy to get on the first page? It’s work but do your competion analysis the right way.

The most important factor when analyzing the sites already on the first page is links (to the page not the site) and the anchor text for those links. After that you’ll want to look at on-page factors, page rank and .edu/.gov links. I really can’t get into numbers here because you can rank for anything, it just depends on how hard you are willing to work. Let’s just say if they have not worked all that hard you won’t have to either. Follow this for the best SEO course.
